American COPA 2019 : Schedule, Fixtures, Pots

COPA, 2019 has begun excitement is at its peak for every football fan. COPA is organized by South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), which is oldest confederation in the world. COPA tournament started in 1916 for first time and hosted by Brazil. Now in 2019 again  COPA is hosted by Brazil and the tournament First match is scheduled on 14 June, 2019 and the final battle will be played on 7 July, 2019.

There are total 12 teams participating in COPA, 2019 out of which 6 teams are of members of CONMEBOL, three teams are members of CONCACAF (North American central and Caribbean Football Confederation and three teams from AFC (Asian Football Confederation).

Teams in group A are Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela and Peru. Team in group B areArgentina, Colombia, Qatar and Paraguay.and teams which make group C are Uruguay, Ecuador, Japan and Chile.

Japan and Qatar are the invited teams from Asian Football Confederation. It is Qatar’s  debut performance as it is participating for the first time in COPA tournament. Qatar and Japan are invited because Qatar is winner of AFC Asia Cup,2019 and Japan is first runner up.

There are four pots  having three teams eachin each pot. The teams were arranged in different Pots as per their world rankings. That means most strong teams in Pot !then next three strong teams in Pot 2 and so on.

Stadiums where the matches are scheduled are located in major cities of Brazil. There are six stadium which will witness this tournament located in five cities.

1 Rio De Janerio : The stadium is Estadio do Maracana having capacity for 74,738.

2 Sao Paula : Two stadium in Sao Paula

  1. Estadio do Morumbi having capacity of 67,428
  2. Arena Corinthians having total capacity 49,205

3 Belo Horizonte: EstadioMineirao it has audience capacity of 58,170

4 Porto Alegre : The stadium is Arena do Gremio it has capacity of 55,662

5 Salvador: Stadium is ItaipavaArenaFonte Nova it can accommodate 51,000 spectators.
